Therapy for Depression
Is depression holding you back from doing what you need to be happy? Is it a challenge to enjoy your life? Does your depression not allow you to appreciate all the good things that are happening around you around?
Depression may show up as losing interest in activities that used to be enjoyable, feeling tearful, having low self-esteem, having suicidal thoughts or thoughts of harming yourself, feeling sad, anxious, or "empty" most of the day, nearly every day, for at least two weeks, feeling hopeless or pessimistic, feeling irritable, frustrated, or restless, feeling guilty, worthless, or helpless.
Depression may also present itself through physical sensations such as feeling constantly tired, fatigue, low energy, reduced appetite and weight loss, increased appetite and weight gain, loss of interest in intimacy, experiencing more pain than usual from everyday activities. insomnia, early morning waking, excessive sleeping, gastrointestinal issues, feeling sluggish or speaking more slowly than usual, increased risk of developing chronic conditions such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. ​

My therapy services are designed to assist you in rediscovering your sense of well-being. I use EMDR to help you address the root of the problem and Somatic therapy to help you work through difficult emotions that may be stuck in your body. I incorporate mindfulness practices to keep you present. I also value the role of spirituality in connecting with your inner self and uncovering deeper purpose.
